In Liguria’s mountains, along mountain chains with great views you get to enjoy glances onto the snow-capped Maritime Alps, the impressive Monte Rosa massif and soon onto the turquoise blue coastline. Along colourful paths and accompanied by Mediterranean vegetation you arrive at the ‘Flower Riviera’, where you can contemplate your impressive week of hiking in the renowned spa town of San Remo over a glass of wine.

Culture, enjoyment and unique scenery in sheer perfection: all of this and lots more awaits you during our hiking holiday in Tuscany. Florence, the pulsating heart of Central Italy, welcomes you in a spectacular fashion: magnificent palaces and cathedrals, David by Michelangelo or the paintings of the great masters such as Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli. Along remote trails you walk through characteristic Tuscan rolling hills of the Chianti region, via history charged villages such as Siena and Volterra you proceed further and further towards the Tuscan coast. Along the ‘Via Sale’ you can already taste the salty sea air on your tongue and once you finally get to dip your tired legs into the turquoise glistening waves of the Tyrrhenian Sea near Cecina Mare, you can be totally sure that you have reached your destination.

Unique walks between the mountains and the sea in Sardinia’s “Wild East” are awaiting you. Picturesque, rugged, spectacular, plain and simply wonderful! The daily routes offer a perfect mix: beautiful views of the rugged coastline, the blue glistening bays and the Mediterranean karst – this is an area of land that is full of colours and smells. The Gulf of Orosei and the Ogliastra are not known as the loveliest places in Sardinia for nothing. The peace that you get on these walks is unique and is perfect for watching the grazing flocks of sheep, the donkeys but also the eagles and the vultures. In the spring, you are surrounded by the flourishing and lovely scented blossom in Macchia, which emits all year around thanks to the fragrant aroma of the rosemary, bay trees and other Mediterranean herbs.

‘La Luminosa’, the enlightened, is the Spanish name for Mallorca. The largest of the Balearic Islands has many hidden secrets and shows them off to her best advantage. Explore the tranquil core of Mallorca the wild Serra de Tramuntana with walking paths over rocks and past scattered, sun-drenched oaks. Across olive groves to picturesque villages with manor houses and castles. Again and again you will enjoy marvelous views of the sea and small islands. Sun, beach, sea and recuperation are the strong points of the idyllic coastal villages.

This week’s walking presents you with the “best of Mallorca “every day. Each day, you will follow a new, dreamlike path with wonderfully diverse scenery as far as the eye can see and of course, you will see lots of typical Mallorcan villages. In fact, you will go from one highlight to the next! You will be thrilled by how diverse this island really is. Right from the start you will visit lovely places, the mountain village Valldemossa is a particularly lovely place, which has attracted lots of celebrities. The rugged west coast is fascinating and has many panoramic tours to offer with coastal views and unique scenery. Sóller, the capital of the oranges and a jewel of the island is well-known for its culinary delights. The Orient valley also has ample culinary delights for you to discover after you have hiked through the sparse Serra de Tramuntana mountain landscape. At the end, you can look forward to arriving in the capital city, Palma, which is a modern yet also traditional metropolis on the island.

Starting from the roaring Atlantic Ocean in the north west, this multifarious week of hiking takes you across the unique mountain scenery of black volcanic rock into the sunny south west. In the enchanting little coastal town of Garachico you enjoy breathtaking views onto the vast Atlantic Ocean and the green northern coast of the island. You cross several vegetation areas – each emanating its unique charm – and delve into the alpine world of the Teno mountain range. The hike through the Masca gorge is an extraordinary highlight to look forward to, with its steep towering rock faces and unique flora. In the south-west you walk along ancient bridle paths and stay overnight at the highest point of the Canaries, where the grand finale of your hiking holiday is an impressive walk through the biggest National Park of the island.

There are steep and rugged coastal lines, green hills and small bays great for swimming as well as cloud forests and sun-drenched banana plantations. The flower island, Madeira, offers a versatile scenery and a pleasant climate all year round. The dry east, the cool north, the barren mountains, the moist high plateaus and the sunny south all invite you to come and explore this wonderful island. To keep your energy levels up along the Way, tuck into Portuguese and Spanish cheeses, traditional cured meats, the freshest of fish and seafood and vinho verde wines. Begin your incredible journey in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Porto. Learn how St. James and a cockerel saved a pilgrim’s life in Barcelos, why Roman soldiers were terrified of crossing the river at Ponte de Lima and appreciate the significant part Valença’s fortress played in defending Portugal’s borders. One the other side of the River Minho the stunning Tui Cathedral awaits, as do Redondela’s viaducts and the medieval center of Pontevedra. Riverside Caldas de Reis is famous for its soothing thermal waters while Padrón lays claim to St. James’ first burial spot. His remains have since been relocated to what is now a monumental cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

The route, which heads northwards very close to the riverbanks, connects to the classic route that comes from Tui in Redondela.
