Take in the variety of Costa Rica by bike, pedalling past rainforest, volcanoes and stunning coastline. From San Jose, we cycle south with vast Pacific views to the right and dense forest to the left. Crossing the 3,400 meters Cerro de la Muerte pass into the Orosi Valley, we ride past coffee plantations and volcanoes to arrive on the fertile Caribbean plains where banana plantations take over the landscape. We take a break from the saddle to explore the wildlife-rich rivers and waterways of Tortuguero before travelling to La Fortuna, a lovely spot at the foot of Arenal Volcano.

For history, archaeology and mythology, the Peloponnese is arguably the most interesting part of Greece. Our week of cycling is a journey through fascinating classical history and a superb variety of landscapes, from the azure blue of the sea to the green olive trees and vineyards of the heart of Greece. Starting and finishing in buzzing Athens, the ride offers plenty of opportunities to discover some of the country’s treasures, such as Poros Island and the beautiful town of Nafplio. Each day gives us the chance to sample excellent local food in various restaurants and tavernas and immerse ourselves in the Greek culture and lifestyle.

We will travel to the Colombian, Peruvian and Brazilian Amazon, a tight carpet of trees that stains a huge river brown as it makes its way through the jungle. We will discover indigenous communities and nature reserves where the fauna stands majestic. A trip that we must do at least once in our lifetime.

Beginning in the spa town of Monção, you’ll follow eco trails along the River Minho, the natural border with Spain, which offers fabulous views, wildlife and scenery as well as fortified towns with centuries of history. From the mouth of the Minho at Caminha you’ll head down a verdant section of the Atlantic Coast, filled with stunning beaches, to the beautiful historical city of Viana do Castelo and then follow the Lima River to the oldest town in Portugal, Ponte de Lima. From this idyllic setting, cycle all the way to the villages of Arcos de Valdevez and Ponta da Barca along eco trails on either side of the river. Next stop is Barcelos, home to a legendary cockerel and an important stop on the Camino de Santiago pilgrim trail, before heading back to the coast for the last leg of the journey. More wonderful beaches, fishing communities, nature reserves and interesting towns and cities form part of your last cycling day. End the tour in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Porto, the home of port wine.

Off Finland’s south-west coast lies one of the country’s most amazing and unique regions. The Turku archipelago consists of over 20,000 islands, and is a stunning area of natural beauty. Our hugely popular cycling tour hops from island to island using local ferries.

This popular hiking tour takes you on a walk around the southeastern section of the Julian Alps. The trails leads through bucolic valleys, across green plateaus, over high passes, along hidden paths of sparsely populated areas, through small tourist centres on the outskirts of the mountains. It follows the Sava, Bača, and Tolminka rivers. Throughout most of the hike, Slovenia’s highest mountain Triglav is visible from all sides. Along the way, you will discover the history of ironworks in Slovenia, get to know the homes of the great Slovenian writers and poets and learn about the importance of beekeeping in the past and today. You will get to meet ordinary people who live on secluded farms, meet cheesemakers who create their own products. Those interested in history will enjoy learning about major events here in the First and Second World War.

A walking holiday in the heart of the Julian Alps and along its mountain ridges. This is a stunning mountain hike, taking you through breathtaking alpine scenery and its many attractions, including Lakes Bled & Bohinj. Walk among the peaks of the Triglav National Park, and hike to the highest Slovene mountain, Triglav. Stay in alpine mountain huts and enjoy scenic view from your Bled hotel.
