With the Walking in Paradise tour our aim is to combine a wonderful stay at our very special and unique guesthouse, just seven kilometers from Évora, with the discovery of the ever surprising Alentejo region. You’ll find your days will be plentiful but also relaxing! And our food… delicious! You should try it! During your stay we’ll take you through exclusive hiking trails, local cafés, beautiful historical monuments, artisans and wineries. Each day is different, the mix of different landscapes and sceneries. The scents in the morning breeze, the sounds of late afternoon beetles and crickets, the golden colours of the summer fields and the wild life that pops up to surprise you on your hike will make you feel much more alive. As it is a hotel based walking tour you don’t need to worry about packing and unpacking each day.

We start cycling in a wild rugged area of the Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina National Park, on the west coast. Then, we cycle along the popular south coast, the true Algarve, including very picturesque spots closer to the Spanish border! Our days have lots of variety with visits to places such as the Fisherman’s museum, the cape of Sagres and several fortresses. The Portuguese Sea Discoveries of the 15th century are always present. Besides cycling and enjoying the amazing scenery, we invite you also to learn about the local economy. One of the learning highlights is a visit to an organic farm where its fruit is transformed in jams, chutneys, cakes, and chocolates. The salines visit is another one and, to a sweet end, a visit to a pastry factory where you will have the chance to learn to bake some cakes and in the end taste them (cooking on van guided and guided tours only)! The beaches are beautiful, on the first days with fun waves and impressive steep cliffs on the background while the last days offer us quiet and crystal blue waters. You will find out that even in the more touristy Algarve areas there are still hidden away empty beaches.

This seven day bike tour in Portugal will take you through some of the wildest and most beautiful Portuguese landscapes, taking some easy dirt roads occasionally. It’s a cycling tour combining the convenience of the accommodation at our lovely country house, cycling through Alentejo and great weather for most of the year. The days are all very different and rides include visits to wineries, artisans and producers of local specialities. You will feel rewarded with the high knowledge of your local guide and the gorgeous landscape around our country guesthouse. Even if you choose the self-guided option, we will meet you every day to help you organise.  You don’t have to pack and unpack every day. Every morning you will meet your guide after a delicious breakfast and indulge on a beautiful bike ride.

The Castles and Wine bike tour will live up to its name.  Most nights will be spent either in a castle or an old convent, now beautiful charming hotels.  Along the way the great ancient city of Évora, world heritage site, and small fortified hamlets will tell the stories of wars with moors and Spain. The border is right there on the other side of Alqueva, the biggest artificial lake in Europe.  The loveable Alentejo people, at first shy, the Mediterranean typical gastronomy along with the wonders of cork, marble, olive oil and other crafts will enrich your experience. And the wine… well come and judge for yourself…  All this in safe backroads with some easy bits off the asphalt riding, with us by your side.
