Individual arrival in Berlin. Embarkation at 4:00 pm. Berlin is always worth a trip. Maybe you’ll have some time and a notion to take a stroll on the Kurfürstendamm, take a walk through the Nicolai Quarter on Spree Island or take a glance at the Brandenburg Gate. The possibilities of Berlin are almost endless.
Day 2
Berlin – Oranienburg – Eberswalde 38 km
The well-marked bike route meanders northward through the Ruppin sea area to Oranienburg. Sightseeing tip: the Baroque castle with its park, museum and orangery. This is your embarkation point, afterwards you will sail to Eberswalde. In the heart of the city, in the Finow Canal, is the oldest working lock in Germany, which has been a technical monument since 1978.
Day 3
Eberswalde – Hohensaaten – Schwedt 32 - 64 km
First you will bike through the splendid landscape on the Treidel bike route along the Finow Canal, passing by forests, glades and small hills in the direction of Niederfinow (boat lift – a tour is always an option) to Hohensaaten. There you will get back on board and sail to Schwedt or if you still like to cycle you go by bike (add 32 km).
Day 4
Schwedt – Mescherin – Szczecin 30 km
Today you will cycle through a part of a unique, cross-border nature reserve, the “Lower Oder Valley National Park”, then on to Gartz and Mescherin, where you will get back on the boat. Then you will sail to Szczecin, the green city on the mouth of the Oder and one of the largest ports on the Baltic Sea. The reconstructed castle of the dukes of Pomerania situated in the city’s historic center is worth seeing.
Day 5
Szczecin– Wolgast day of rest on board
Today you will spend all day on board. After one last narrow passage, the boat will arrive in the expansive waters of the Bay of Szczecin (Oder Lagoon). Day 6
Wolgast – Peenemünde – Lauterbach 15 km
In the morning you will bike through Zecherin and Karlshagen Harbour to Peenemünde (tip: historical/technical museum in the former power plant).
