Accommodation:

3* and 4* hotels, haciendas and homestays

This nine day trip to Peru covers the most iconic highlights of the country, but in a different way. Visit Cusco and its highlights, experience the hospitality of the native in the sacred Valley by staying on a homestay and participate in local workshops. Visit Pisaq, Ollantaytambo and Macchu Picchu. Travel over the highlands of the Andes and explore the islands at the Titicaca Lake.

Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival in Lima

Arrival to Lima. At arrival, walk to the airport hotel, Costa Del Sol Ramada in front of the airport, where you will spend the night before heading to Cusco the next morning.

Day 2

Flight to Cusco & City tour

Walk back to the airport. Flight to Cusco and transfer to hotel.
After check in, you will have a city tour in Cusco included.
First we will visit the market place, San Pedro where there will be a lot of folkloric activities and great photo opportunities. From here visit to Sacsayhuamana. Once back in Cusco again we will visit San Blas (the neighbourhood of artists in Cusco), the 12 Angles Stone, Plaza la Armas and finally Qorikancha (Sun temple).

Day 3

Full day tour to Sacred Valley with Homestay

Meeting with the guide and departure towards the Sacred Valley. The first
visit is Awanacancha, a weaving center were you can appreciate some South American Camelids like llamas, alpacas, guanacos and vicuñas. Continue to Pisac Inca Ruins then we will spend time at the Pisac Indian Market. Then continue to an important huaca in Urco, here you can see a special temple dedicated to the water and mother earth. Continue to visit the Inkariy
museum where you can appreciate that Peru is the cradle of several cultures from Caral. It is attributed to an antiquity of 5000 years and is considered to
be the oldest city of America, to the Inca Culture. Later we’ll continue to Chichubamba, where we’ll spend the night in a charming, local guesthouse
and get to experience the hospitality of the natives of the Sacred Valley

Day 4

Communitarian tourism, Ollantaytambo & Aguas Calientes

After breakfast we’ll do some real sustainable tourism by participating in different local workshops. You will get to learn more about the ceramics and how they prepare chocolate at home. It’s a lot of fun and a real opportunity to learn more about the ancient and still living cultures. On the way to Ollantaytambo we are going to make a stop at “El Descanso” to visit a singular family that prepares a very important drink for the local people in the sacred valley; “Chicha” is an alcoholic beverage that is extracted from the fermentation of corn and also is used in a ceremonial offerings to the Pachamama. Visit to the ancient ruins in Ollantaytabo and some of the greatest masterpieces of the Incas. Voyager Train: 16:36 / 18:09 hours to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night.

Day 5

Macchu Picchu

Early morning transfer to the bus station and bus to the entrance of Machu Picchu. Morning tour to Machu Picchu with private guide. Afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo train station. From here transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 6

Cusco – Puno

Tourist bus to Puno by “Camino del Sol”. On the way, there are going to be guided visits to: Andahuayllillas Church, Raqchi (the God temple) and Pucará. Lunch on the way in Sicuani (or maybe other location). Upon arrival to Puno, transfer to your hotel.

Day 7

Uros & Taquile Island

Two day tour to Uros & Taquile Islands with private guide. This excursion begins with pickup from your hotel in the morning hours. Transfer to port and the boat trip begins. First stop is the Uros floating Islands. Stepping on the floating islands feels a lot like being on a waterbed but it is quite safe to walk on them. We see inside the houses and rides on traditional reed boats can also be arranged. We then continue the journey towards Taquile Island. At arrival, check in to a local hostal. Afternoon free to explore the island with your local guide. In the afternoon, you will have an excellent opportunity to enjoy the peace at the island as all the main tourism will either continue to the neighbour island or return to Puno.

Day 8

Taquile Island & Puno

After breakfast you have the morning to explore the local way of life by participating in the daily activities together with the locals. Departure from Taquile to Puno after lunch. Upon arrival at Puno (around 3-4 p.m.) transfer to your hotel.

Day 9

Puno – Juliaca – Lima – Home

Morning transfer to the airport in Juliaca. At your arrival in Lima, connect with your international flight.
