The countryside on both banks of the Moselle is splendid, the cool wines taste deliciously, the picturesque little towns have rich histories and the conditions for cycling are excellent indeed.  You follow the river Moselle, partly in Germany, partly in France and partly in Luxembourg, along the endless vineyards and the enchanting old cities like Cochem and Bernkastel. It goes without saying that you can taste the local wine as often as you like. Then, of course, there is Trier, once an imperial Roman city. You will see the remnants of this glorious past in Germany’s oldest cathedral, amphitheater, the emperor’s throne hall and famous “black gate”, the remains of the ancient city wall. After Trier you will follow the river Saar to visit charming Saarburg, with the stunning waterfalls in the city center. Then onto Luxembourg, the only Grand Duchy in Europe. Its strategic position between two super powers (France and Germany) made it a contested area to control over the ages. The last day you cycle in France with her welcoming villages, where the inhabitants are proud of their sweet, smooth wines and golden “Mirabellen” liqueur. The tour end in the city of Metz, with her splendid Gothic cathedral.

There is a very good reason why Northern Burgundy is referred to as “The Land of Good Living”, and if nothing else, once you complete this memorable boat and barge tour, we hope you understand why. If you’ve never seen Northern Burgundy you are in for a sensual overload of divinely beautiful countryside, ancient medieval villages, serene, meandering rivers and of course, some of the best wines, cheeses, honey and ciders in the world! Burgundy is known throughout the world for its laid-back pace of life, friendliness and mild climate. Both the cultural experiences of visiting wonders such as the gothic cathedral of Sens or the cities of art and culture of Auxerre and Joigny, and the biking itself which alternates between easy stretches of free-wheeling alongside the river Yonne and more challenging uphill sections that lead to spectacular views, will lea will leave you feeling enriched, enlightened and recharged.

This eight day bike and barge tour starts in Paris, where the barge Fleur is docked in the center of the city, not far from the Notre Dame Cathedral.  Unlike other river cruise ships, you will follow the Seine upstream, in southern direction.  This region has a rich, royal history and the castle of Fontainebleau is a magnificent example of this past. The castle was much in favor among the French kings, because of the extensive possibilities to hunt in the surrounding forests. Just as impressive are the royal gardens, which the French kings had their royal architects lay out for them.  You will cycle through the wonderful forests to the painter’s village of Barbizon, where since the first half of the 19th century many painters (Barbizon School) have lived and worked. Next stop is Moret-sur-Loing, a charming medieval fortified town, strategically situated on the banks of the Loing River, where painter Sisley found inspiration for his beautiful impressionist paintings. From there you will follow the Canal du Centre to the beautiful medieval towns of Ferrières with its splendid monastery and Château-Landon with the Abbey of St. Severin. Your final destination is Montargis, a picturesque town with beautiful little canals.  The canals are decorated with many flowers and give the town a lot of charm.  The bicycle tours go mainly over quiet country roads, off the beaten track.

Be marvelled by a route full of history and natural beauty in one of the most important mountains of Inca cosmology: Salkantay. Cross the cold ‘puna’ with beautiful views of the mountain range, then descend to green valleys surrounded by forests and archaeological sites that will bring you closer to the legendary past of Peru. Top your journey off with a visit to the best-kept treasure of the Incas: the citadel of Machu Picchu.

Many are the routes that take you to Machu Picchu, but there is none like the Inca Trail, the most famous pedestrian route in the Americas. Arriving in Cusco, prepare to walk for four days on a path through forests and dense fogs, ancient stone steps and discover the remains of ancient fortifications and Inca cities, while enjoying majestic views. After 46 kilometers of walking at the top of the Andes, the reward arrives: the first exciting views of Machu Picchu from IntiPunku. Take in the variety of Costa Rica by bike, pedalling past rainforest, volcanoes and stunning coastline. From San Jose, we cycle south with vast Pacific views to the right and dense forest to the left. Crossing the 3,400 meters Cerro de la Muerte pass into the Orosi Valley, we ride past coffee plantations and volcanoes to arrive on the fertile Caribbean plains where banana plantations take over the landscape. We take a break from the saddle to explore the wildlife-rich rivers and waterways of Tortuguero before travelling to La Fortuna, a lovely spot at the foot of Arenal Volcano.

For history, archaeology and mythology, the Peloponnese is arguably the most interesting part of Greece. Our week of cycling is a journey through fascinating classical history and a superb variety of landscapes, from the azure blue of the sea to the green olive trees and vineyards of the heart of Greece. Starting and finishing in buzzing Athens, the ride offers plenty of opportunities to discover some of the country’s treasures, such as Poros Island and the beautiful town of Nafplio. Each day gives us the chance to sample excellent local food in various restaurants and tavernas and immerse ourselves in the Greek culture and lifestyle.

We will travel to the Colombian, Peruvian and Brazilian Amazon, a tight carpet of trees that stains a huge river brown as it makes its way through the jungle. We will discover indigenous communities and nature reserves where the fauna stands majestic. A trip that we must do at least once in our lifetime.

Discover a beautiful and fertile land at the northern gateway to Patagonia – a magical landscape filled with active volcanoes, turquoise rivers, gigantic lakes and ancient native forests.
