Travel through great Olmec and Maya region in Tabasco and Chiapas State. Cycle through the amazing tropical rainforest of Chiapas, the most biodiverse state of Mexico. On the way discover fascinating thatched - roof villages where Maya people still live in the area. Penetrate the jungle and learn about the wide flora and fauna in the area, plus discover unique waterfalls, lagoons, canyons, and mountains as you bike each day. Marvel at the amazing architectural and engineering skills manifest in once great Olmec (first pre-Hispanic culture) and the Maya: Palenque and Comalcalco. Take a boat and cross the river to Guatemala and cool off in the many rivers, lagoons and waterfalls in Chiapas.


Day 1

Arrival in Villahermosa

Arrival in Villahermosa and transfer to your hotel. Time for bike fitting. Group dinner and briefing on the trip. Optional trip to la Venta Park.

Day 2

Villahermosa – Comalcalco - Villahermosa 110 km

Bike towards Comalcalco archeological site. On the way pass several towns where you can enjoy some beautiful Mexican churches. Return to your hotel.

Day 3

Villahermosa - Teapa 57 km + 58 m - 47 m

Enjoy breakfast early in the morning and proceed by bike to Teapa town and check in a thermal water hacienda where you can relax and enjoy the thermal waters.

Day 4

Teapa - Kolem Jaa 40 km + 160 m - 138 m (Optional + 40 km more taking deviation to Xicotencatl passing through Poana)

Bike ride from Teapa passing through great scenery until you arrive to Kolem Jaa cabins in the jungle. Once on site enjoy hiking and discovering waterfalls and great jungle in the surrounding areas.

Day 5

Kolem Jaa - Tuxtla Gutierrez

Enjoy hiking in the area and optional activities such as zip lining. Van departure to Tuxtla Gutierrez (5 hours). Enjoy the scenery crossing from Tabasco State to the State of Chiapas. Check in at your hotel and enjoy dinner.

Day 6

Tuxtla Gutierrez - Chiapa de Corzo - Tuxtla Gutierrez 30 km + 49 m - 153 m

Begin the day by riding 16 kilometers from Tuxtla Gutierrez to the Chiapa de Corzo where we will take part in a boat trip through the Sumidero Canyon with breathtaking scenery and wildlife. Bike back to your hotel.

Day 7

Tuxtla Gutierrez - San Cristobal de las Casas 85 km + 2430 m - 819 m

Bike ride to the International Zoo of Chiapas. Continue biking to San Cristobal de las Casas, a colonial town and check in at your hotel. San Cristóbal was founded in 1528 and is located at more than 3, 000 meters. The area has more than one million Mayan people and the most diverse number of ethnic groups, which can be seen mingling with Mexicans and tourists.

Day 8

San Cristobal de las Casas - San Juan Chamula - San Cristobal de las Casas 28 km + 550 m - 548 m

This day comes with some tough hills in order to get to San Juan Chamula. San Juan Chamula has lots of flavour of the old Maya villages with ancient rituals still in practice. We recommend visiting the unsacred church. On the way back, stop in Zinacantan to visit a flower farm and continue towards your hotel by bike. In the afternoon explore and enjoy San Cristobal town and a visit to the jade museum.

Day 9

Cristobal de las Casas - Comitan 90 km + 905 m - 1453 m

A challenging bike day crossing some ridge lines all the way to Comitan where you can enjoy a visit to the many temples of the city. In the afternoon: optional trip to El Chiflon, an amazing waterfall (one hour van ride each way plus about one hour on site). Check in at your hotel with rest stop in Teopisca (36 kilometers).

Day 10

Comitan - Montebello 56 km + 382 m - 404 m

Enjoy biking to the Montebello lagoons, which have more than 50 lagoons with green and blue colors. Check in at Tzicao cabins by one of the lagoons. A guide will be available for the group to visit some of the lagoons. Optional trip in rafts in the afternoon to cross the international lagoon into Guatemala and then back to Mexico.

Day 11

Montebello - Palenque City

Van transfer to Palenque City. (No biking today). On the way stop at the great turquoise blue waterfalls to enjoy hiking in the area. Check in at your hotel.

Day 12

Palenque City 22 km + 161 m - 90 m

Enjoy biking to one of the most important and interesting archeological sites of the Maya: Palenque. Guided trip on the site and bike back to your hotel and relax in the afternoon.

Day 13


After breakfast drive to Villahermosa for return flight home (transfer from Palenque to Villahermosa is about two hours).
