The Cruise Ship MS Esmeralda
The ship has been constructed in Tangermünde and has been refurbished in 2011. It is 90 meters long and 11.2 meters wide and has a draught of 1.3 meters with 1,250 tonnes of water displacement. The machine has 1,630 PS driving power in two independent main machines, with two propellers and one bow thruster. This is responsible for a gently cruising experience. 25 crew members speak German and Dutch. Payable on board is in Euro. You find 58 outside cabins on three decks with a size of 9.5 m² equipped with shower/toilet, panorama window (openable), individual air-conditioning, and 2 separate ground level beds (twins), satellite TV, telephone and safe. On the sun deck you find a big recreational area with sunbeds and partially with sun protection. Smoking is only allowed in specific signed spots. In the tasteful welcome area you find the reception, the restaurant with a wonderful flair for all 116 passengers and the panorama bar with live music in the evening. There is an elevator which leads to the main and upper decks and a wheelchair lift to the sun deck. The sun deck welcomes you for relaxing hours in the sun beds and a glassed area behind the wheelhouse.
There are the fabulous Spessart and some nice historic towns along the Main. The delightful vineyards of the Frankenland are a high contrast to the big woods. The nature park “Haßberge” and some neat market towns await you along the way.
